Partner Agency Newsletter Summer 2015 | Seite 4

The North Texas Food Bank has launched a strategic vision: By 2025 we will improve the quality of life in North Texas by closing the hunger gap.

To close the hunger gap by 2025, NTFB will need to distribute a total of 88 million pounds of food per year for the next 10 years. This 58% increase will allow us to get more food to hungry children, seniors and families through our network of Partner Agencies.

Our Partner Agencies are the most trusted allies in the fight against hunger. As we work to close the hunger gap we want to invest in our Partner Agencies to ensure you have the resources needed to deliver food to hungry North Texans. NTFB is working to expand access to food via the hub-and-spoke model which will focus on providing healthful food and necessary services to clients across North Texas. The hub-and-spoke model brings food closer to clients by supplying their local agency with nutritious food. We will work to build up resources in these areas as we expand our distribution model to better serve our Partner Agencies and our client base.

This first year of Network Expansion is a pilot year that will allow us to fine tune the details of this plan. We will communicate specific details regarding deployment areas and time tables as they become available. We are excited about the many benefits this will bring to the entire network. We know that this is an important and necessary step on the road to a hunger free North Texas, and we are so thankful to be on the journey with you.
