Grand Opening of Woodland Trails Park
Neighborhood Parks
Neighborhood Parks completed several projects this year
to maintain safety and increase level of use by the public,
while enriching the appearance and longevity of each facility.
Capital Improvements and CDBG-funded projects included the
construction of CXT restrooms at Jaycee Park, Rotary Park, and
resealing of the parking lot at Treasure Coast Model Railroad
Club. In addition, security lights at Jaycee Park, and hardscape
improvement/ refurbishments to Veteran’s Memorial Park were
completed. Also, the Secret Garden area located at the Botanical
Gardens received a new Gazebo that has been constructed to
provide a tranquil hideaway, which will become utilized by
the Friends of Botanical Gardens to host weddings and other
special events. Many other facilities also continue to have daily
maintenance and in-house improvements to achieve enhanced
safety and prolong the life of the amenities. Something new this
year includes the startup of our Pilot Camping Program located
at McCarty Ranch, where now rustic camping is provided with
13 tent sites and 6 RV sites, all of which can be reserved. Lastly,
construction of Woodland Trails Park was completed, our newest
addition to neighborhood parks. This new park is located at 1485
SW Calmar Ave., right off of Becker Road and Hallmark Street.
Amenities include an open space field with soccer goals, fitness
station, playground, restrooms, pavilion and dog park.
