instruction in accordance with national standards (i.e., fire training classes established by the
National Wildfire Coordinating Group).
Crew members must successfully complete a full-day of classroom instruction on prescribed
burn concepts and tool usage and safety conducted by certified instructors from the
Louisville Fire Department.
In addition, all participants will have completed a fitness exam consisting of carrying at least
25 pounds on their back a distance of 2 miles within 30 minutes.
