Parker County People
You Should Meet Before You Die
PART 3
By Marsha Brown, Kathy Jones, Abigail Gieger, Christina Loveless, Katie Rodgers, Mel Rhodes and Melissa Moorman
Parker County is a fascinating place. What makes it interesting now, is the same thing that made it
interesting a century ago — its people.
Here’s a list of who’s who of Parker County and what they do that makes them remarkable.
Our list brings to mind what William Shakespeare once said of people who are worthy of note,
“Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness
thrust upon them.”
That’s true of the extraordinary people on our list. We have included a new element in our fourth
annual Social Bucket List. We have named a, “Most Interesting Man of the Year,” and a “Most
Interesting Woman of the Year.”
They both bring to mind the words of ― Mahatma Gandhi, “The greatness of humanity is not in
being human, but in being humane.”
