Preston Gibson —
Baseball Player and
WCS Student
Preston is a baseball player who was
born to play America’s pastime. “I
feel like I was born to play baseball.
I have loved it my whole life and feel
God gave me the ability to play, and
so I work very hard so I can keep
playing,” he exclaimed. When he’s
not playing baseball, Preston loves
to hunt and is active in Lions 4-H
at his school, Weatherford Christian
School, as an officer showing steers,
pigs, chickens and crops. The most
impressive thing about him is that
he can recite all 66 books of the
Bible. His favorite way to pay it
forward? “When I got to volunteer at
the Miracle League and help other
kids play baseball and donating my
buck I shot to a family in need,” he
said. His best day? “At my first game
of the All American Tournament
in Viera, Fla., we were behind and
bases were loaded and I hit my first
out-of-park grandslam! We ended up
winning the game and I was awarded
“Big Stick” on the All American team
at the All American Games,” he
said. Preston would most like to be
remembered for being polite, being
a good sportsman, and [hopefully] as
one of the greatest baseball players
like Nolan Ryan and Babe Ruth.
