EXAMS

High School Exams

Semester and final exams are given to most high school classes; they are valued at 20 % of the semester grade. Review days are scheduled in most classes before these exams. Students are responsible for keeping all tests handed back to them throughout each semester to aid them in studying for their semester and final exams; they shall be cumulative throughout each semester.
Administration of seniors’ final exams takes place before the Senior Class Trip( when the class elects to do a class trip). Teachers of seniors may occasionally choose to elect to permit seniors to be exempt from taking final exams. When a teacher elects to implement this exemption, the teacher will establish the minimum final grade needed to be exempted from his / her exam, which cannot be less than 93.

Middle School Exams

Our middle school program is purposefully designed to be a time of transition between elementary and high school. For this reason, middle school students are given mid-term and final exams on a limited and progressive basis according to their developmental needs. The reduced value of these exams also helps middle school students transition into the high school rigor of full-value exams.

DUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES

Dual Credit Opportunity at Cornerstone

Dual credit is available for students enrolled in Worldviews. Seniors may apply to receive college credit from Bryant University for the successful completion of our Worldviews course. Interested seniors and their parents are encouraged to meet with the school’ s guidance counselor to determine if this opportunity would be beneficial to help meet their specific college requirements.

Online Dual Credit Option

There are a variety of options for students wishing to begin accumulating college credit while still completing high school. The CCS Secondary Principal maintains a list of Christian colleges that offer online courses to high school students. Students may pre-apply to receive high school credit from Cornerstone in addition to the college credit issued by the institution per the credit conversion information listed below. Parents are responsible for all costs associated with taking these additional courses.
