College Board Examinations

Many colleges require the Scholastic Aptitude Test( SAT) or the ACT. Each college preparatory student should consult his / her college catalog to see if his / her prospective college requires these assessments for admissions.

PSAT / NMSQT

This is administered in the 11th grade at The Cornerstone Christian School in October to give the students an idea of what the SAT is like and to qualify for scholarship help. Students in the 10 th grade will also be given the option to take the PSAT( for a nominal fee).

SAT / ACT

Juniors are encouraged to take the SAT and / or ACT in the spring. These are administered at several test centers in Connecticut in November, December, January, March, May, and June. Students may check with the school guidance counselor for information about test sites.
Seniors should take their selected test again in November, December, or January of their senior year. Students are permitted to take the test more than once; the highest score will be used by the colleges.
