the classrooms. This preserves the instructional atmosphere of the periods after lunch. All drinks brought to school for lunch must be stored in a sealed, leak-proof container.
Parents can drop off lunches that are forgotten at home, but meal delivery services are not permitted due to the strain it places on office personnel and our efforts to maintain a secure campus.

Reduced Fragrances Policy

Students and faculty / staff are asked to refrain from wearing perfumes and colognes on campus. Room fragrances( natural and artificial) should be avoided as much as possible.

Preparing for Outdoor Play

When the outdoor temperature is extremely cold( below 20 ° F, including the wind chill factor), or hot( above 90 ° F), or rainy, then recess shall be held indoors. Under all other conditions, students must be sent to school with the appropriate attire to play outdoors during their allotted recess times. Please check that your student is dressed appropriately for outdoor play each day.

Visitors

All visitors must first report to the school office upon entering the building to sign in and receive a visitor’ s pass. Visitors are encouraged to make prior arrangements through the school office and with the classroom teacher. All parents and visitors must report to the school office immediately upon entering the school building. All visitors to The Cornerstone Christian School are requested to dress in a manner that complements the standard of dress for our students.

Emergency Drills

Fire drills and lockdown drills at regular intervals are required by state law and are an important safety precaution. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO PULL A FIRE ALARM FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN A FIRE. Persons caught setting off alarms will face disciplinary action by the school and may also be subject to legal prosecution per municipal ordinances.

Showing Movies

When movies are shown at Cornerstone during the school day, they must be directly related to the educational program. All such movies will be G-rated unless special permission has been obtained by the administration, which will then result in requesting parental permission before viewing. Movies are not to be used to entertain students while transporting students on behalf of the school for field trips and other school-related activities.

Ministry Safe Training

All faculty, staff, and volunteers with supervisory duties are required to have ongoing training on how to protect our students from sexual abuse. An updated Ministry Safe Training certificate is required once every three years.
