prior to a scheduled last day of classes are required to contact the Senior School Director .
Attendance Concerns
As outlined in the “ Whole School ” section , there is an expectation that students be on time and attend school every day of the year . Students and parents / guardians are notified when the number of absences exceeds 20 % of available class time . Student attendance in the Senior School is monitored by the Heads of Grade and the Assistant Director , Student Services . When a significant concern arises , the School ’ s administration will work with the family to create a strategy to best support continuous learning for the student . It is important for parents / guardians and students to be aware that , at some point , continued or frequent absence puts the academic success of the student in jeopardy , including the loss of course credits . Should a student ’ s absence result in the School being required to refund the Government per-student funding , this cost will be passed onto the parents / guardians .
Patterns of Late and Missed Attendance
Heads of Grade will hold individual “ improvement ” meetings with students who have a pattern of late and missed attendance at school . The goal of these meetings is to support the students and ensure the development of skills towards improved habits .

Lockers , Valuables & Lost and Found

Lockers
EEvery student will be assigned a locker and a lock at the beginning of the year . It is expected that a student ’ s belongings will be kept in her school locker and that the locker will be kept locked during the school day . If a student has items that will not fit into her locker , she should locate a safe area for her belongings to be held for the duration of the day . A safe area could be the Senior School office or an advisor ’ s classroom .
Valuables
Students should not bring valuables or large sums of money to school at any time . If a student must bring money or valuables to school , it is recommended that she ask to keep such items in the Senior School office for safekeeping . Valuable items should be turned into the Senior School office .
Lost and Found
The Lost and Found area is located by Senior School reception . Unnamed items will be displayed each day . Every other Friday , unclaimed and unnamed items will be recycled or , if of limited value , discarded .
Fundraising , Charities and Donation Drives
Crofton House School believes in partnership as the means for meaningful change . Rather than many small acts of giving , the School chooses to invest in a few carefully considered partnerships that are aligned with the mission , vision and values of the School such as education , girls and women , health and / or environmental sustainability . Long-standing and significant relationships with a few organizations result in members of a community having a deep and lasting understanding of the complexities of the issue ( s ), which leads to meaningful impacts .
Our primary purpose is education . All fundraising , charity initiatives and calls for donations must be accompanied by learning and increasing understanding . The School aims to broaden students ’ awareness of what they are able to contribute . ‘ Giving ’ is possible through three types of gifts — the three ‘ T ’ s : time , talent and / or treasure .
