Community Dining
Crofton House is committed to providing a healthy , community dining experience for its students and staff . Manrell Hall fulfills the School ’ s vision as a gathering space where our girls and staff share meals , foster connectedness , pause from their busy day and create healthy eating habits .
The School is committed to using locally-sourced ingredients , including herbs from the School ’ s garden . Special dietary needs , including allergies and food sensitivities , are met in consultation with our service provider who is dedicated to preparing nutritious , balanced and tasty meals for everyone .
Lunch and Snacks
Lunch is available to all students , with costs included in the tuition fees . The community dining program can accommodate the whole school from Grade 1 to 12 . With approved exceptions , all students from Grades 1 to 11 are required to eat lunch in Manrell Hall . Junior and Senior Kindergarten students participate in the program and are served lunch in the familiar environment of the ECE Centre .
The menu for lunch changes daily . Monday has been designated “ Meatless Monday ” to promote options that include alternatives to meat protein sources .
Students are not permitted to order food for delivery to the School or leave campus to pick up food . Only Grade 12 students , with parent / guardian consent , can leave campus during spare blocks and lunch , following the sign-in and signout procedures
Morning and afternoon snacks are provided to students in the Early Childhood Education Centre . Families are encouraged to pack a nutritious , “ allergen-aware ”, waste-conscious snack for their daughter for the mid-morning break and in the Junior School , a snack for mid-afternoon . Junior School students are encouraged to bring a snack from home . For all students , an after-school snack is helpful with participation in co-curricular activities and athletics .
Grab & Go Snacks ( Grade 6-12 )
The Grab & Go counter in Manrell Hall provides healthy snacks available for purchase in the morning and afternoon .
• The Grab & Go is open 7:30 am to 8:30 am and 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm .
• Note : Students in Grade 6 and 7 can make purchases after-school and only if they are not involved in co-curriucular programming .
• Students must present their student ID card when making a purchase to charge their account . Parents / guardians may request a computer printout of their daughter ’ s Grab & Go purchases from the accounting department .
• Replacement cards can be purchased through the Junior and Senior School Offices .
