Stay in the Loop

How we keep you informed, involved and in touch.

Getting Involved

Lamplighters Yeshivah hopes to promote a collaborative school model. When a child sees his or her parent place value on the school by taking an active part, the child in turn learns to value the school. To this end, Lamplighters Yeshivah offers many ways of being involved in the school experience. Since parents are busy too, we have several opportunities that do not happen during the school day or even during the school year, as well as ones that occur concurrently with the school schedule. Below is a brief list of possible ways for you to be involved( more will be added throughout the year as they become available):
1. JOIN THE LAMPLIGHTERS PTO!
Not long ago in a neighborhood not very far, far away, a group of Lamplighters parents got together to enhance our children’ s learning and spiritual experience, bring more resources to our school, and encourage meaningful dialogue within the school community.
The Lamplighters PTO was born.
Last year, these dedicated parents planned Rosh Chodesh programs, Moms Night Out Events, a Chanukah party and Purim extravaganza, organized Mitzvah Tanks and a Hey Teves book fair, and coordinated chessed programs, like pairing elementary students as pen pals with Shluchim’ s children, class visits to the elderly, and care packages for the IDF. The purpose of these programs isn’ t merely to create wonderful memories for our children, but to provide experiences that will deepen their connections to Torah and Chassidic values and to give them opportunities to practice responsibility as Lamplighters of the world.
The PTO was also formed to establish channels of communication among parents, and between parents, teachers, and staff, so that the school can maintain its tight-knit, community feel, where parents are comfortable asking questions and offering feedback.
And, of course, the PTO also functions to make parents’ lives easier, by organizing mid-year and end-of-year teacher gifts.
Feel the need to unleash your inner superhero? Join our PTO team! Or, come powwow with us unofficially and put those unique skills to good use by volunteering at the program of your choice.
