You know, the days when your kids are awake extra early
with excitement
BIRTHDAYS
Preschool :
Birthdays are Lamplighters Yeshivah are celebrated by
remembering each year of a child’s life.
In preschool, we celebrate birthdays by having a spe-
cial “birthday circle” toward the end of the day. At the
birthday circle we show each year of your child’s life in
pictures, give brachos to one another, say pesukim and
give Tzedaka.

The elementary classes also welcome gifts of a sefer for
the class and will place a sticker with your child’s name
as the donor.
PROGRAMMING
Here is a suggested parent checklist of things to bring
to school for your child’s birthday:

A roll of coins for Tzedaka
A picture from each year of your child’s life to be
scanned and included in the birthday timeline (pic-
tures will be returned home).
Small birthday bags/balloons with small toys or
healthy snacks (no junk food please!) These bags
will be distributed at dismissal.
A book to donate to the class (optional)
Parents are asked not to send in treats from home
for the celebration, as the class will prepare a healthy
birthday treat in school to share together.
Elementary :
In elementary, a child’s birthday is celebrated in fahr-
brengen form. The child is invited to share a story or
small bit of Torah during lunch. The children give tze-
dakah and sing niggunim. Each child may bring one

Every program at Lamplighters is planned with a great
deal of thought and care. We plan so many different
events for all occasions, for both parents and children
alike. Combining input from our parents, teachers and
the programming team, we do our best to make sure
that our children get the most meaningful experience
from each holiday and special day. While most of our
programs happen in school, some holiday celebrations
such as Chanukah and Purim are Lamplighters com-
munity events
We love when parents get involved in the different
events, be it by coming in and volunteering an extra
