From grade 4, pupils can choose to learn woodwind and brass instruments including; saxophone,
clarinet, flute, trumpet and the French horn.
We offer individual and group lessons. Individual lessons provide pupils with focused attention to
enhance their music skills and group lessons are a great way to learn how to work as a team.
ENSEMBLES
Our music department includes two choirs. After an audition process, pupils from grades 1 to 3 are
chosen for our junior choir, while pupils from grades 4 to 7 make up the senior choir.
We have an energetic grade 7 marimba band that
represents our school at various community functions.
Our music department hosts a minimum of two concerts
a year- one for the Foundation Phase and one for the
Senior Phase. Ensembles and individuals who play an
instrument perform at these events.
(Please note that grade 1s who are eager to learn an
instrument are encouraged to wait until grade 2 before
they start!)
LIBRARY
Our library was revamped at the beginning of 2013.
The CAPS curriculum does not make provision for
children to have library lessons,
