Ask Questions. If you ' re unsure why your athlete is doing a certain drill, placed a certain way in the routine, or wearing a specific outfit— just ask. Open, honest communication between parents and coaches builds trust. Encourage your child to ask questions too— it teaches confidence and respectful dialogue.
Trust the Process. Coaches and club owners bring years of experience. While it ' s not always easy, try to trust their methods. Being a parent in this space means finding the balance between trusting and questioning— and that balance may look different for everyone.
Stay Positive. Cheer and dance require hard work. Celebrate your athlete’ s progress and effort. While coaches give corrections, your encouragement means the world. Stay their biggest cheerleader!
Know the Guidelines. Clubs usually have a code of conduct. Following it helps everything run smoothly and benefits your athlete. If something’ s unclear— ask!
The key to your role at the gym or studio is knowledge! The most common disconnect between parents and coaches and club owners stems from not understanding how or why things are done.
