Green light
The USASF has taken important steps to promote the highest level of safety within our All Star member organizations. One of these steps is a required background screening with a green light determination for an adult member who accompanies a team into a warm-up or backstage area at all USASFsanctioned competitions. This includes club owners, coaches, volunteers and non-coaching staff members associated with a club. Additionally, adult athletes are required to be screened before eligibility status is granted.
Credentialed
Credentialed refers to a coach who has demonstrated the knowledge required to teach skills at a specific level. While not required for general USASF coach membership, credentialing in building, tumbling, or both is mandatory for coaches at The Cheerleading Worlds, up to the level their team competes.
To earn a credential, a coach must show they can teach the most advanced skills allowed at that level and must pass each level before progressing.
Credentialing confirms skill-specific teaching knowledge but does not guarantee safety or replace CPR, first aid, or other coaching education. It assures athletes and parents that a coach is qualified to teach skills appropriate for the team’ s level.
Exceptional Athlete Division
USASF’ s Exceptional Athlete Division Supports Exceptional Athletes with a can-do attitude in an All Star environment that builds independence and self-confidence. The CheerABILITIES and DanceABILITIES programs provide good exercise; improve flexibility and strength and fosters positive social interaction and peer support.
