Photographs
We may, at times, take pictures of the children enrolled in our camp programs while they are engaged in various activities. Our intention is to share the photos with the children, as well as possibly using them for display and / or publicity purposes.
No Nuts / Food Allergies
All park district camps have been designated NUT SAFE. These practices are being implemented due to the rapid increase in serious nut allergies experienced by children in our programs today.
We are requesting your cooperation in partnering with us to ensure a safe environment for children with nut allergies.
Peanut replacement products such as soy butter or any seed butters will not be allowed, because camp staff will not be able to distinguish the difference between the nut and nut free product. Any food items brought to camp also should not be made in a facility that also processes products with nuts.
Lunch Service
For those enrolled in Camp Funview, Camp Wilderness, Skyline Children’ s Theater Summer Camp, Kinderview, Glenview All Star, Fun Quest, Sun Troopers, and Summer Explorers, lunch is catered each day by Kiddos Catering, Inc. at no additional cost. All catered lunches are nut safe. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available for campers who indicate these dietary needs on their ePACT health forms. While Kiddos meals are prepared to be nut safe, families with specific allergy concerns are encouraged to contact the specific restaurant directly for detailed ingredient and preparation information.
Camps that attend field trips will have lunch provided by the field trip location when available. In cases where a field trip location does not provide lunch( such as a zoo), parents may be asked to send a nut safe lunch with their camper. Campers always have the option to bring their own nut safe lunch each day.
Those not enrolled in the camps specified above will bring their own nut safe lunch each day for camps taking place during the mid-afternoon lunch hour.
