Over time and a few classes the issues surrounding behaviours, access etc will be discussed including the more practical issues such as costs, fees and support orders. These discussions however are often low key or presented by smiling social workers who brush the serious nature of some of the key points with "of course we will be there for you and back you every step of the way"
So well armed (or so these big hearted people think) once approved by cfys, they await the child who will bring so much happiness.
Other courses etc are of course available and many attend them building on the skills that will aid in any issues that could arise when dealing with children that are not their own. So they think...
Much care has gone into providing good educational programs. PANIC advocates and caregivers on our boards often comment about how informative and well run they are. Yes indeed they are and all credit to their construction.
What can't be learned however is the reality and pressures families can find themselves in.
