It is recommended that these projects be reviewed for traffic impacts with this Transportation Management Plan in order to coordinate such impacts to the greatest extent practical. It is not anticipated that the Town’s Coastal Program will have a significant impact to traffic as the work predominantly occurs on the beach. Haul routes for imported sand should be coordinated with the detour routes contained in this Transportation Management Plan. It is not possible to predict private construction activities at this time. The Town’s Public Works Department should use this Transportation Management Plan to guide them in the issuance of MOT permits and coordinate the efforts of the private construction community within Town construction project areas. Once MOT permits are issued and the MOT measures are implemented in the field, the operations should be monitored closely for effectiveness.
