Linda Jean Brown at her home with her state wildflower initiative sign.
She said she’ s hoping to kick off a new event,“ Wreaths For All Occasions,” this December.
She has also been a driving force in the club’ s sponsorship of holiday décor at several local nursing homes, as well as work in the parks around the community and the decoration of the Anderson County Courthouse and Annex at Christmas.
A true green thumb, Brown continues to win big at various flower shows and the East Texas State Fair each year and hopes to bring the annual flower show back to Anderson County in the future.“ We want to keep flower shows alive, but they are a lot of work,” she said.
Beyond the club, Brown enjoys coffee on the patio watching wildlife in the mornings and going on adventures with her husband, David, whom she lovingly refers to as“ Daddy-O,” and who she said has been very supportive of her work in the Garden Club over the years.
