More than a decade down this ‘ Road of Life ,’ we find a Whiskey Myers that has seemingly become more than East Texas ever expected . Individually , each member has grown and honed their craft in ways that rank them among the greats . The band ’ s first release , ‘ Road of Life ,’ practically became vernacular for East Texas . ‘ Ballad of a Southern Man ’ and ‘ Broken Window Serenade ’ introduced them to the rest of the world , and as time went on we were gut-punched by the likes of ‘ Reckoning ’ and ‘ Stone .’ Now “ our ” Whiskey Myers is “ everybody ’ s ” Whiskey Myers .
With their newest release , ‘ Tornillo ,’ Whiskey Myers , a group of friends who arose from the swirling , pine-scented winds surrounding East Texas , prove that they will continue to evolve on their own terms .
