is a 2nd year student at Oakland with
junior class standing. She is currently
working toward a degree in graphic
design with a minor in creative writ-
ing. When she signed up to take this
class, she wasn’t sure what she want-
ed to get out of it, nor is she sure now
what she did get out of it. All she
knows is that they’re definitely not the
same thing. is a freshman at Oakland, where she
studies screenwriting and theatre. Her
hobbies include making to-do lists,
eating snacks, and attending avant-
garde theatre performances. She
hopes these essays and projects show
that everyone can take something
away from reading Pale Fire, even if
no one can agree on what that some-
thing is.

is a freshman at Oakland. She is cur-
rently studying Nutrition and Health
but hopes to transfer in the Fall of
2018 to study Dietetics at Michigan
State University. In her free time, she
enjoys reading, binge watching shows
on Netflix, or rewatching Stranger
Things. For Charlotte, these essays
show creativity of her classmates
when it comes to writing. She hopes
the reader enjoys them as much as
she does.

rently undecided on his major, but
likes writing and storytelling. He took
this class so that he could be exposed
to a unique perspective about books
and stories, and he feels these essays
are a reflection of the ways that the
course creatively challenged its stu-
dents.
