Landscape 2020- William Morrison
The artist provided Tubes a list of the ‘influences’ of his work, and as with most
landcsape artists, J.M.W Turner was high on the list of favourite painters. It will
have not escaped the artists attention that Turner was adept as an engraver and
water colourist, as he was a painter of the large wonderful oil paintings of weather
conditions and its effects on land and Sea. Turner’s father helped his son by
‘grinding’ his oil paints from the pigments available during the late 1700’s through to
the mid 1800’s. William follows that tradition by also grinding his own oil paint.
