The International Classic Paintball League ( ICPL ) held its second and final event of the 2020 season the first weekend of October 2020 . While events and leagues have been shut down the majority of the 2020 playing season , the ICPL ’ s two-event season went off without a hitch . The league ’ s first event was played way back in the pre-COVID-19 days of January 2020 , with the finale event played in Chicago as restrictions have begun to be lifted or loosened nation-wide .
This year ’ s Windy City Open , held at Renick Miller ’ s Badlandz drew an ICPL record 46 ten-man teams and 14 five-man teams . And as the term classic would indicate , there were a ton of old school teams and players at the event . Pro teams like the OG Ironmen , Farside , Saberwolves , Annihilators , Master Blasters , All Americans , Ground Zero , Aftershock and many more would battle Saturday and Sunday for woodsball , limited rate-of-fire , Hyperball supremacy . The Amateur Division also had its fair share of names you would know as well — teams like Thunderstruck , Desert Edge , Black Sunday , Fusion , X-Men , Smoke and many more .
