The APE Guerillas seemed to be the sleepers of the event . During the bracket selection podcast , there was very little known about them , and afterward there was some debate if they were the “ Guerillas ” or the “ Gorillas ”. Coming out of Albany Paintball Experience ( APE ), conducting irregular warfare , I rather enjoyed this little play on words , but not much else was known about them .
There were two teams that were completely new to the scene . NYPD ’ s Finest , an amazing group of active police officers from New York City was one . According to Kevin , they had practiced a few times on the fields at PSI leading up to the tournament .
And then there was us , the Valkyries . A rag-tag bunch of ladies from all facets of the sport . This had officially become intimidating .
While packing to leave for New York , I summed it up to a friend : We were either incredibly naive , plain stupid , or ballsy as hell .
The UK Predators back , returning to the event for the first time in 20 years .
Of course there was The Band who made their premier at Woodsball World Cup on the same fields at PSI last year . Those guys have been playing for more than 30 years , and they are still a calculated bunch of

Any time 13 people come together , there are bound to be challenges and conflicts . Add in the fact that we were13 strongwilled , competitive women , and we had a recipe for potential catastrophe . We halfexpected there to be at least one that
