When did paintball start in Iran ? Do you know anything about that ?
Paintball was first played in Iran around 2002 in a recreational indoor field in Tehran ( capital of Iran ) CALLED MATRIX Paintball ; the game was brought to the country by Hamid Nikpour who was the head of Iran Paintball Association for couple of years . A year later , a morning show on national TV had a segment on the same field to promote the game .
The first-ever International event that Iranian teams took apart was 2004 Millennium-Series Toulouse in France ; two teams named XerXes and Javidan .
Tell us about that first Iranian paintball tournament held Dec 9 , 2004 ? Who won ?
What was it like ? Were there spectators ? What kind of gear was used ? Etc .
The first-ever National tournament was held in Mashhad which is in northeast of Iran . A total of six 5-man teams competed over two days . The bunkers on the field were all sand bags , tires and cars . ( No air bunker was brought to the country at the time ) Only two players had an electronic gun which was a JT Protium ; some had JT Proflex goggles plus Dye Invasions . The paint used at the event was Draxxus . There were also people watching the games .
Kohaan , Javidan , Highlanders , Giv , Mashhad and Behrooz were the teams played . Kohand won the event .
