Division 4
A surge of international squads also showed up in the D4 5-man, this level seeing representation from twelve nations in every corner of the world. NMI’ s D4 squad would be the only international team to make a deep run.
In the semifinals would see Orlando’ s Jakk Boyz defeat their cross-town rival Orlando Invaders for a finals berth, and the Texas-born FZR defeat the South Africans to take the one seed.
FZR then went on to take gold over the local Jakkboyz, and the bronze went to hometown Orlando Invaders over NMI.
Division 5
Out of a field of 29, the vast majority of the teams that made their way into Sunday were locals. The only non-Florida teams to squeeze in were SCRUBS out of Mollala, Oregon, the TexeCutioners by PBGateway out of( surprise) the PBFit program in Dallas, Texas, and Black Ops Paintball’ s Beach Bandits with their coach Chad Bouchez.
Tampa Bay Exile would go on to defeat the Texans in the semifinals, and then knock off the Beach Bandits to win gold. The bronze would go to Fort Lauderdale’ s FTL Outlaws.
3-Man
Open
Lines from four teams showed clear dominance in the Open 3-man division, and Klams Kassino was first among them. A mashup of Owen Goin of Louisville Asylum, Joe Biondo of Mastodon, and Brandon Portman of NRG Elite, this powerhouse team made quick business of everyone they faced from horn to buzzer. At least until the finals round.
