I want to shout out the Allied army and my good friend, [ Patrick Whalen ] Mercer.
People see a final score of 61-52 and think oh the Germans won by 9.
People don’ t think about how if [ the Allies got ] the final flag hang, its 57-56
It really was back and forth all weekend. We’ d take a lead, they’ d cut it down. We’ d go up a bit more. They’ d take a bunch back.
It was a really dang good game
Cheryl: Any words of advice for your replacement, John Lake, going forward?
Mike: John has been a general in other roles and an xo for years; so my best advice would be for anyone who is stepping into the shoes of a generals role and hasn’ t done it before.
-Be kind to everyone.-Don’ t feel like you need to control everything.
Your XO’ s are in their place for a reason.-Don’ t be afraid to ask questions.-Don’ t be afraid to ask for help.-Don’ t let the little things get you down.-Try to go on field at some point and take a marker with you to get some shots in.( Laughs)-Take a minute or 2 to step away from the CP.-Last, you want to win, but this ain’ t our job. We go to work on Monday or the lucky ones.. Tuesday.- [ Oh, and actually last but not least ], checkers not chess. Keep it simple.( laughs) Checkers is a read and react game. Chess is a strategy game.
Cheryl: Checkers? Awe, man. You ' re cute. You played a chess match and it was palpable.
Mike: Strategy goes out the window when the game starts( laughs).

Up Next:

As is tradition with Skirmish’ s Big 3, the outcome of IoN determines the theme of the October event to come. Since the Axis army rewrote history by defeating the Allied army and pushing them back into the sea, October’ s BoB will be the Battle of Britain as the German horde seeks to annihilate the resistance and rain down on London. Have the courage? Maybe we will see you there.
