fuselages , was a hot spot all weekend . The Axis forces occupied it early on Saturday morning , and they kept the 101st Airborne occupied all day long . For the past few years , the 101st has owned the back fields , but by using an advantageous access to the Air Field , they were able to create a back and forth battle all day in the woods .

With calls for heavy rain in the forecast , a tough battle was imminent . At seemingly first light , the paint-laden warriors hit the field once again . Immediately , a slugging match ensued at the FOB , which was located midfield .
Things took a turn midday for the Axis when an actual health situation prompted a change within German command . From that point forward , the skirmish line at midfield became a stalemate , and neither side made much headway .
As twilight settled in , the night missions began . While the clash began to mount , word trickled into the Allied contingent that a young girl was lost in the woods . But was she ? The sides split points for the night mission , and afterward it became apparent that the lost child had been a
ruse , and the Axis had taken their points through guile and duplicity . Fortunately , no animals or actual children were injured in the making of this trickery .
At game end on Saturday night , the effects of the new point system became apparent . Although they had managed to keep the Axis forces at bay midfield , and dominated the battle in the backfield , the Allies were ahead by a mere nine points . Sunday would require all hands and
