Planet Eclipse Geo 4.0

Ah… Planet Eclipse, how I love thee… You have brought my beloved GEO back
to me… Granted, the CS1 and CS2 are both part of the GEO line of spool valve
paintball guns. It’s just that with the CS versions, Planet Eclipse changed the
overall feel. They stretched the gun out making it feel longer. Especially with
the angle of the grip. They also changed the core in the CS2 affecting how the
gun shot. With the new GEO 4, they have tried to go back to the overall feel
of the much loved and missed GEO 3.5.
Now obviously there have been some major changed between then and now.
The most notable is that the regulator is now located in the grip frame similar
to the CS versions. The reason for this is that it allows for a faster recharge
rate which helps prevent shoot down when rapid firing for long periods of
time. Another interesting change is that they have gone back to the IV core,
although they have added a softer bolt tip. They have stepped up the barrel
also. The GEO 4 comes with the new FL series 14.5” aluminum barrel and
includes a .689 insert. One of the features that I absolutely love is that despite
the reangling of the grips, the GEO 4 uses CS2 tool less grips! How fun is that?
So basically, what we have here is Planet Eclipse going back to the original
feel of the older and well-loved style GEOs but bringing with them all the best
lessons learned from their CS versions. The most exciting part of this though,
is that the GEO 4 has an asking price of a couple hundred dollars less than the
CS2 and CS2 Pro. Just awesome.
