Do You Choose?

The very first thing you should buy are goggles. Not only are they required for your safety but if you can not see what you are doing, you can not play effectively. You could shoot your own players. You could run headfirst into a tree … yes, I’ ve seen it happen … more than once. When goggles fog, that falls under the bad category. If you can not see, you can not play. So, do you buy new or used? I passionately believe in this case you must buy new. To clarify, I mean new lenses. I change mine every season. You can buy used goggles but be sure to change the lenses. You only get two eyes. While we are on the topic of goggles, be sure that they fit your face and that the strap is solid. It is fine to buy used goggles but once you replace the lenses and then you must replace the strap or re-glue / replace the foam and so on, is buying used goggles worth it? There are fantastic brand-new goggles out there for very affordable prices. My vote is buying new goggles but at the very least, buy new lenses.
The next thing you should consider is footwear. I hear you screaming“ WEAK!” but hear me out. We will start talking about the guns soon enough. After goggles, in my opinion, the next most important thing to buy is good solid shoes or boots to give you traction while playing. Newsflash here but paintball fill is oily! The ground literally gets greased! I am a diehard believer in owning cleats to play in. I know a lot of people that argue tactical boots with ankle support are better because if you find yourself on floors or flat rocks, you are boned with cleats.
