Marcus Davis Talks
Woodsball
Field Of Dreams
Marcus Davis, Captain, UK Predators
but for most of us it is out of our grasp. This
is even more accurate when you live outside
of America. There have been a few very rare
exceptions to this with the likes of the Russian
Legion, the Ton Tons and a few
others leading the way, but at
best most Airball teams will
only ever fill the lower positions
when playing against the top
pro teams.
Woodsball: the field of dreams. Let me
explain what I mean by this. The chances of
a lower division air ball team beating a top
seeded pro team in a mercy points match is
very, very low.
Due to the time, funding and the resource
requirements to compete at the top level of
Airball, a lower-ranked team stepping up and
competing with top pros is unlikely. I’m afraid
to say for most of us average Joe paintball
players this is merely an unrealistic dream
that will never happen. We can reach for it,

The reason why is that for most
of us this is a hobby. As well as
funding our Paintball endeavors,
we have go to work and feed
our families. Most paintball
professionals, especially those
at the very top, sacrifice a LOT of
time and money to be as good as
they are. Many have practiced
and trained relentlessly for
many years.
However, all is not lost! One
of the biggest reasons why
I started and have kept on
playing woodsball over the
years and not become more
involved with the Airball side
of paintball is because in the
woods, each and every one of
us has a more realistic chance of
not only competing against, but
even beating the top woodsball
teams and players.
