There have been a few very rare exceptions to this with the likes of the Russian Legion, the Ton Tons and a few others leading the way, but at best most Airball teams will only ever fill the lower positions when playing against the top pro teams. Woodsball: the field of dreams. Let me explain what I mean by this. The chances of a lower division air ball team beating a top seeded pro team in a mercy points match is very, very low. Due to the time, funding and the resource requirements to compete at the top level of Airball, a lower-ranked team stepping up and competing with top pros is unlikely. I’m afraid to say for most of us average Joe paintball players this is merely an unrealistic dream that will never happen. We can reach for it, 098 paintball.media magazine The reason why is that for most of us this is a hobby. As well as funding our Paintball endeavors, we have go to work and feed our families. Most paintball professionals, especially those at the very top, sacrifice a LOT of time and money to be as good as they are. Many have practiced and trained relentlessly for many years. However, all is not lost! One of the biggest reasons why I started and have kept on playing woodsball over the years and not become more involved with the Airball side of paintball is because in the woods, each and every one of us has a more realistic chance of not only competing against, but even beating the top woodsball teams and players.
