Earthquakes
Jesus predicted that there would be not only the horror of famine but the terror of earthquakes as time comes to a close . He said in Matthew 24:7b —
Matthew 24:7b ( NIV ) " There will be famines and earthquakes in various places . "
History tells us that the disaster of earthquakes has always been with us . In fact , the Bible predicts a final and great earthquake just before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ . Revelation 16:18 says ,
Revelation 16:18 ( NIV ) 18 ) " Then there came flashes of lightning , rumblings , peals of thunder and a severe earthquake . No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth , so tremendous was the quake . "
