For projects , innovation should follow a similar process . Start with some goals , have the courage to take risks , but also be very collaborative to check with others and use the resources in the company to make sure we ’ re covering all our bases . In the end , hopefully , you will come up with something great .
Can you share some examples of recent successful innovations ?
TT : In the last ten years , we ’ ve had over 50 initiatives within P2S . About 25 % of them hit the mark and turned out to be quite successful . That ’ s a pretty good ratio , especially when you consider the history of how innovations usually go . Broadly speaking , only about 5 % of innovations actually work out the way you hope they will .
Some specific initiatives here at P2S include our commissioning services , which grew into a new division in the company , P2S Cx . Today , we have 16 commissioning agents .
One initiative that has really taken hold is the Half Hour Huddles . Those have a lot of engagement and involvement , and I consider that one of our more successful initiatives .
Is there anything innovative you ’ re currently working on ?
TT : We have seven initiatives for 2023 . The Advisory Board manages three and four are managed by the Development Team . These include quality control , maintenance of past initiatives , lean process to improve production , standardizing excel workflow , improving our RA process , Revit and digital twin applications .
I ’ m currently leading our wellness initiative , focusing on mindfulness , time management , and wellness initiatives within the company . The idea is to improve our employees ’ work-life balance for success at P2S and outside of P2S .
Another initiative has been the New Hires program , new technology like laser scanners and drones , and our company podcast .
We also continue to find ways to improve our production efficiency . A lot of our initiatives focus on that .
