National Council of the U.S. Society of St. Vincent de Paul Mobile Giving Text Alert System (NEAT) Are you a federal worker or in the U.S. military and want to contribute to the National Council of the U.S. Society of St. Vincent de Paul? You can through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally that help raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges are made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season, which runs from September 1 to December 15. If you're interested in learning more, including how to contribute, go to http://www.opm.gov/cfc/. Simply enter SVdP's number (1095) on the CFC pledge form. The National Council is evaluating a mobile text alert network called the "National Electronic Alert Text Network (NEAT)." And you're invited to participate! The program promises to be an exciting new tool that we'll be testing for disaster relief, general communications, and fundraising capabilities. The National Council will control all messages sent via this network. Most importantly, we value your privacy: • Cell phone numbers will never be compromised for spam. In fact, the Federal Communications Commission law forbids us to give cell phone numbers to anyone. • The text messaging system collects only your cell phone number, which is stored on a highly secured network. • The National Council is inviting leadership, members, and donors to opt into the National Electronic Alert Text Network. To be part of the NEAT Network, simply text SVDP to 96714, or follow the following simple, three-step process from your computer or tablet: 1. To sign up, please click on http://marlimar.com/SVDP/. 2. You will be asked to enter your 10-digit mobile phone number. 3. You will receive an instant text message: "You've joined the SVdPUSA National Electronic Alert Text Network (NEAT). You'll be first to learn of new needs. To give, click http://bit.ly/12OOGJF. Text STOP to quit." We appreciate your participation and feedback as we implement and refine this new fundraising and communication program. Questions?
