Sleepwave had entered the stage. Sleepwave, or as I like to call them, Underoath Junior, were a heavy rock band, containing a now broken up Underoath’s lead singer, whose name escapes me. I don’t remember any specific songs, but their overall sound and tone were great, however the crowd barely moved with any of their songs. After thanking us for coming, Sleepwave excited, and the crew started setting up for the next band, Tonight Alive. An Australian pop-punk band, they seemed to know how to have fun on the stage. After the second or so song, the crowd actual started to come alive and move. The entire sound mix was well done, though the vocals seemed to fade in and out a bit. Once again, they thanked the crowd and the crew moved their gear offstage. Now, for Taking Back Sunday. Honestly, I don’t remember them too well, as I was being crushed especially during their performance.
Needless to say, the line was already massive, and the weather was not pleasant, by any stretch of the imagination. That, couple with the fact that we didn’t want to die of heatstroke inside the venue when the room got moving, we left our layer clothes in the car. So there we were, outside, in Winter Milwaukee, while it was flurrying, with t-shirts and jeans. Not very fun. After about forty minutes, the doors opened and let us inside. With our tickets scanned, we headed up to the second floor to buy some pre-show merchandise. mine consisted of a normal t-shirt, a tank top, and a wristband.
With merchandise worn to prevent theft, we headed up to the third floor, the arena itself. The room was massive, it had columns surrounding the inner floor. Lights covered the ceiling, giving some pastel blues and pinks. The stage was set for the opening band, Sleepwave. After about another half-hour of waiting, the arena darkened.
