2. Create reasonable daily & weekly goals
How you frame your goals will determine the level of satisfaction you feel with your work. Resist the urge to overestimate what you can get done as that can leave you feeling like no matter what you do, it is never enough.
3. morning centering & daily self-care
Instead of thinking of self-care activities as time taken away from work, know that the healthy impact they have on your life will likely make you more efficient and better at what you do.
4. appreciate your accomplishments
When you work for yourself, the sky is truly the limit! You have the ability to focus on your dreams and really see them through, which is a wonderful blessing that not everyone has the opportunity to pursue. However, if you tend to be a perfectionist and hard on yourself, like many sensitive people, it can easily feel like no matter what you do, it is never enough because you can always do more.
.
Set manageable daily and weekly goals – If anything, set fewer goals, but choose those that are most impactful or necessary.
Schedule time each week to organize your weekly goals – Friday afternoon or Monday morning are great times to do this.
Focus on taking one step at a time – Avoid overwhelming yourself—don’t try to get everything done at once. Switching between tasks too often will end up costing you time in the end.
Schedule in daily self-care as if it were any other important appointment – Avoid canceling on your own health and wellbeing!
Schedule a variety of self-care activities – Schedule exercise, relaxation time, family time, social time and anything else that nourishes your mind, body, and spirit!
Create a morning self-care routine – Start your day on a positive note with stretching, meditation, affirmation work, exercise or your own favorite activity. Follow along with my morning routine here.
.
Take time to honor and appreciate yourself for your work – Make yourself a nice meal, get a massage or find time to simply affirm your worth. Allow yourself the pleasure of appreciation.
Treat yourself as you would your own employee – Be kind and understanding with yourself. Make sure you aren’t too demanding of a boss!
Appreciate both the little and big accomplishments – Find a way to thank yourself for your work at the end of the day. Even just a small “thank you, great job” or a pat on the back can make a big difference.
