FEAR WAS TAKING OVER. SHE FELT LIKE A FRAUD. DAYNA NEEDED TO FIND HERSELF TO OVERCOME.

So when her second child was age two, she decided to get her Master of Music degree in violin performance, after all. It was difficult. She had to prove herself to her teachers, herself, and her classmates who were much younger. Dayna took on a lot of pressure, practiced six hours a day, and managed to take care of her two children at the same time. To do this, you must really love your craft so much and have the perseverance to keep going. One thing, in particular, kept her awake at night and almost defeated her, stage fright. This fear was taking over.

When playing in front of other students or public, she felt like a fraud, overcome with panic and anxiety every time she had to perform. Dayna was ready to give up ... Just in time, she received a gift from a friend, a book called “The Inner Game of Music.” It teaches how to change around negative self-talk and to be in the moment of your performance. This book changed her life. She learned how to visualize success and to be a success in all other areas of life too. Visualization and experiencing the happy feelings that go with that is like tricking your mind into success, quite the opposite of FEAR, False Evidence Appearing Real.
