ITINERARY
DAY 1 • Depart U. S. Depart in the late afternoon on an overnight flight to Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
DAY 2 • Fly to Nairobi, Kenya Fly to Nairobi, Kenya, and meet your fellow travelers including those on the pre-trip extensions, Rwanda: Gorilla Trekking & Rebirth of a Nation or Kenya: Samburu & Sweetwaters Game Reserves.

DAY 3 • Kobe Tough Ceramic Beads • Nairobi National Museum
Visit Kobe Tough, which employs local Maasai women to produce handmade beaded jewelry. After lunch, explore the exhibits at the Nairobi National Museum.

DAY 4 • Conversation about the politicization of Kibera underserved community • Giraffe Center
Stop in Kibera to learn about the political movement in one of the largest underserved communities in Africa. Then, visit the Giraffe Center for a chance to view a Rothschild giraffe up close.

DAY 5 • Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve • Afternoon game-viewing drive
Enjoy a game-viewing drive en route to our Masai Mara lodge, possibly seeing gazelles, topi, and leopards. The Masai Mara’ s rolling grasslands ensure that the wildlife is almost never out of sight. Later, enjoy an afternoon game-viewing drive.

DAY 6 • Masai Mara National Reserve • Full-day game-viewing drive
Today we’ ll set off for a full-day game-viewing drive in Masai Mara National Reserve.

DAY 7 • Game-viewing drives in Masai Mara • Optional Masai Mara Hot Air Balloon Ride
You can join an optional hot-air balloon safari before meeting up with the rest of the group on a morning game-viewing drive. After lunch, we’ ll set off on another game-viewing drive in the Masai Mara.

DAY 8 • Fly to Amboseli • Game-viewing drive Depart Nairobi and fly to Amboseli National Park, on the border of Tanzania and under Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arriving, check in at our tented camp and then enjoy an afternoon game-viewing drive. In addition to traditional wildlife, Amboseli is home to more than 400 bird species.

DAY 9 • A Day in the Life of a Maasai village • Controversial Topic • GCF school visit • Game-viewing drive
Experience A Day in the Life of a Maasai village, including a discussion about the Controversial Topic of female genital mutilation. We’ ll also visit the
government-run village school, Amboseli Primary— supported in part by Grand Circle Foundation. Then, enjoy an afternoon game-viewing drive.

DAY 10 • Tarangire National Park, Tanzania Head for the Kenya-Tanzania border, enjoying a gameviewing drive en route. Continue to Arusha, Tanzania, for lunch at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, one of the oldest coffee plantations in Tanzania. Then head to Tarangire National Park to settle into our lodge.
