DAY 12 • Casablanca • Quartier Habous street food experience
Explore Casablanca on an included tour, which will take us to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the most splendid mosques in the world. We’ ll also stop by the Quartier Habous to sample some of the area’ s famous street food and enjoy a market demonstration before returning to our ship.

On Day 18, set off on a 4x4 drive through the mountains, calling upon the tiny villages that nest in Madeira’ s foothills, and observing the levada irrigation channels the locals use to sustain their crops.
DAY 13 • Rabat Drive to Rabat today, where we’ ll explore the city on an included tour. We’ ll stroll around the outside of the Royal Palace and catch a glimpse of the Mohammed V Mausoleum, then discover the Kasbah Oudeya, a twelfth-century citadel that contains the Andalusian gardens, which offer a shady retreat with its varying plant-life. The gardens are also home to the National Jewelry Museum, which showcases Moroccan clothing and accessories throughout the ages— including the Bizmoun Necklace, the oldest surviving piece of jewelry in the world. Return to the ship in Casablanca this afternoon and set sail for Safi.

DAY 14 • Safi • A Day in the Life of a local village From our berth in Safi, we’ ll drive into the countryside to spend A Day in the Life of a local village, where we’ ll join a family for a tour of their home, and help out with some hands-on activities around the house, such as preparing a meal in the kitchen. We’ ll also share a meal for an afternoon of authentic cuisine and cultural exchange.

DAY 15 • Agadir Discover the hilltop kasbah of Agadir Oufella on an included tour this morning. As we explore the site, we’ ll learn how much of the city, including the kasbah, was destroyed by an earthquake in the 1960s, some of which has been lovingly restored to its original condition. Then descend by cable car into the city for a guided visit of Souk El Had, Agadir’ s bustling central marketplace.

DAY 16 • Day at sea We’ ll spend a full day at sea as we sail to Madeira. Meals: B, L, D | M / V Corinthian
DAY 17 • Madeira, Portugal • Disembark ship • Funchal
We’ ll disembark the ship and say farewell to the crew in the autonomous Portuguese archipelago of Madeira. Then, we’ ll explore the capital city of Madeira with a local guide, including the Old Town, the farmers’ market, and one of the oldest wineries on the island.

DAY 18 • Levada walk We’ ll begin this morning with a walk along a levada, a man-made irrigation channel dating back to the 16th century and designed to support local agriculture. Then we’ ll drive off the beaten path in 4x4 vehicles to visit the remote villages of the island countryside. Enjoy an included Farewell Dinner tonight.

DAY 19 • Return to U. S. Transfer to the airport for your flight home, or begin your Portugal: Aveiro & Porto post-trip extension.
