DAY 9 • Phnom Penh • Tuol Sleng Prison Museum • Controversial Topic: Meet Cambodian genocide survivor
Explore Phnom Penh, Cambodia’ s capital city this morning on a panoramic tour aboard a remork, a motorized rickshaw similar to a tuk-tuk. We’ ll see local landmarks including Wat Phnom temple, the Central Market, Royal Palace, and the National Museum of Cambodia. After lunch, we’ ll see a darker side of local history when we visit Tuol Sleng Prison Museum, where enemies of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge were once tortured and killed during the genocide of the 1970s; we’ ll learn more about this Controversial Topic when we meet a survivor onboard the ship later today.

DAY 10 • Koh Chen Island • Wat Kampong Tralach Leu pagoda
Cruise to the idyllic island village of Koh Chen this morning, and meet the people who live there and have been perfecting silver and coppersmithing techniques for centuries. Then, cruise to Kampong Tralach on the banks of the Tonlé Sap River and ride by remork across the rice fields to visit Wat Kampong Tralach Leu pagoda, an off-the-beaten path Buddhist temple and vihara( monastery).

DAY 11 • Kampong Chhnang Visit the fishing port of Kampong Chhnang today, also known for its fine pottery, whose sale forms a significant portion of Cambodia’ s economic revenue. Tonight, enjoy a special cocktail and gala dinner to commemorate our final night aboard the ship.

DAY 12 • Disembark ship • Siem Reap Bid farewell to your ship’ s crew and drive to Siem Reap today, where you’ ll join your Trip Experience Leader for an orientation walk and short panoramic remork tour.

This morning, we’ ll visit Angkor Wat, a masterpiece of Khmer architecture and the world’ s largest religious building. Then, we’ ll visit with some local families for a Home-Hosted Lunch. Later this afternoon, we’ ll return to the Angkor archaeological site to explore Ta Prohm, the famous temple covered in dense jungle of trees and roots.
