DAY 9 • Gibraltar Anchor in Gibraltar. Discover a site connected to World War II: a network of underground military tunnels excavated in rock by the British. Afterward, continue to Casemates Square for a short walking tour along the main street. Lined with countless pubs, shops, and restaurants, this is the primary square of the city and a common meeting place among locals.

DAY 10 • Explore Tangier, Morocco • Visit Darna Association
This morning, enjoy a city tour of Tangier. Visit the Old Medina and discover the charm of this old walled city. Next, we’ ll visit the Darna Association, a safe haven for women who have been cast out of their communities or otherwise disenfranchised by Morocco’ s patriarchal culture.

DAY 11 • Conversation about issues impacting Spain’ s younger generations • Málaga, Spain • Home-Hosted Lunch
Engage in a conversation with a local student about the issues facing the new generation of Spaniards. Afterward, take a walking tour of the elegant Mediterranean port of Málaga. Later, enjoy local fare with a Spanish family during a Home-Hosted Lunch.

DAY 12 • Cartagena Arrive in Cartagena and set off on a tour to discover remnants of the city’ s diverse past. Visit Cartagena’ s most famous landmark— a majestic Roman Theater. Later, enjoy a tapas demonstration. A tapa is a cold or hot“ small plate” in Spanish cuisine. Take this opportunity to learn about Spanish culinary traditions and sample regional delicacies.

DAY 13 • Valencia • Paella demonstration On a tour, witness examples of everyday Valencian life and icons of the city’ s history, like La Lonja de la Seda( Silk Exchange) and the City of Arts and Sciences.
