DAY 2 • Aberdeen , Scotland Arrive in Scotland today and transfer to your hotel . After checking in , meet your fellow travelers who joined our Great Britain : From York to Edinburgh pre-trip extension , then join your Trip Experience Leader for an orientation walk .

DAY 3 • Aberdeen • Embark ship Set off on a walking tour of Aberdeen with a local guide . Known as “ the Granite City ” for its primary building material , Aberdeen is characterized by its silvery-gray architecture . We ’ ll witness notable sights such as St . Nicholas Church and the Mercat Cross . Then , transfer to our ship .

DAY 4 • Orkney Isles • Orkney sheep farm • Churchill Barriers
Experience life on a working sheep farm today . Learn about daily life here and pitch in with some chores . Afterwards , visit the Churchill Barriers , built more than 80 years ago in response to a surprise attack from a German U-boat . We ’ ll also see Orkney ’ s famous Italian Chapel .

DAY 5 • Sumburgh Head • Shetland pony visit Visit Sumburgh Head , a towering cliff on the island ’ s southern tip where seals frolic and various sea birds whirl overhead . Later , we ’ ll meet the iconic Shetland pony and have the chance to pet them and brush their shaggy manes .

DAY 6 • Controversial Topic : Justice and the prison system in Norway • Explore Bergen , Norway • Funicular ride up Mount Floyen
This morning , a local speaker will talk about a Controversial Topic : divided attitudes toward Norway ’ s restorative justice system in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Oslo on July 22 , 2011 . Then , explore Bergen on a guided tour . We ’ ll explore the Bryggen ( wharf ), a picturesque area by the water famous for its brightly-colored wooden houses , and visit bustling Torget Fish Market . Later , we ’ ll ride the scenic Floibanen funicular to the top of Mount Floyen where we ’ ll get a bird ’ s eye view of Bergen and the fjords beyond . After dinner , enjoy live entertainment onboard .

DAY 8 • Alesund • Geirangerfjord • Geiranger This morning , arrive in Alesund . Later , we ’ ll take a smaller ship and sail through the jewel of Norway ’ s fjords — the Geirangerfjorden — a UNESCO World Heritage Site . Then , disembark to explore the small village of Geiranger where we ’ ll visit the Norwegian Fjord Centre .

Explore Trondheim today , including its old veitenes ( narrow alleys ), the Archbishop ’ s Palace , and its historic 17th-century warehouses . Next , visit one of Norway ’ s iconic pilgrimage sites , Nidaros
