BILL JEFFERSON DDC-PREVENTION
IAM VERY PLEASED to have been appointed your DDC-Prevention working with our new District bridge! Being qualified in multiple Marine Safety billets, Navigations Systems, Coxswain and more, I am actively working with the programs that fall under my umbrella.
The DDC-P in our District reports to the District Chief of Staff Mike Klacik. I oversee District Staff Officers for Marine Safety, Navigation Systems, Vessel Examinations, Member Training, Public Education, Program Visitors and the AUXSCOUT Program. Several of the DSOs have been in their roles for many years. Marine Safety, Vessel Examinations and Program Visitors have newly appointed DSOs. I look forward to working in depth with them to expand the programs to improve the quality of training and involvement of new and existing qualified members. Expanding the support to Sectors New York and Long Island Sound is a major priority.
The Auxiliary ' s Prevention Directorate( National) is responsible for the planning and administration of Auxiliary programs to support and augment the U. S. Coast Guard ' s Prevention missions. protection of our nation ' s precious waterway resources. As America ' s Volunteer Guardians, we are committed to being dedicated, vigilant and ready to engage in this mission.
In addition to promotion of the National Prevention Directorates goals, the DDC-P also serves as the RBS Coordinator working directly with Active Duty and in coordination with D1NR. Another major priority is working with Public Affairs and Public Education to promote National Boating Week, Operation Dry Water, Fleet Week and more.
