BUCHANAN, New York - Members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary from Verplanck Flotilla 6-4 presented Buchanan Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker and the Village Trustees with a Certificate of Appreciation during a Town Board meeting on Dec. 1, 2014.
“We acknowledge and honor the Village of Buchanan for their spirit of cooperation. The Village offers a location for our US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla to hold meetings and Boat Safety training classes throughout the year. We area very grateful to Buchanan Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker and the Village Trustees for allowing us to continue to provide these services to the community,” said Verplanck Flotilla Vice Flotilla Commander Charles Fitzpatrick.
As a result of this collaboration, the Coast Guard Auxiliary has trained hundreds of boaters in safety techniques while on the water. The Verplanck flotilla will continue to offer safe boating education and vessel examinations to the public in the upcoming boating season.
