I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome since reporting aboard as your Operations training Officer in June 2023 . I had the distinguished opportunity to work with many of you prior to reporting in as your OTO during my previous nine years while assigned to Sector New York .
Every time you put on your Coast Guard Auxiliary Uniform , you are representing the U . S . Coast Guard and U . S . Coast Guard Auxiliary . Your interaction with the public reflects directly on both organizations . As your OTO , I will provide operational guidance and training to our 2500 + Auxiliary members , including surface , air , and radio facilities across four states .
I am excited for our operational season and plan to get underway with your crews in the weeks ahead . Safety is our primary goal . Bluntly , I ask you look out for one another , identify and mitigate risks , and ensure strict adherence to our operational guidelines and policies . We have new OIA ’ s this year and they will undoubtedly have questions … please help guide them !
It will be an honor to close out my career as your OTO , looking forward to seeing you soon !
