7. Be A "People Person"
Managers need to commit to more than just encouraging teamwork and setting goals. They need to be the ones using the same tools and tactics that the rest of the employees are using. Employees wont feel the need to change and evolve, unless they see their managers doing the same.
You should be comfortable with conflict resolution. You should know how people work and know how to motivate your team.
