pradhan mantri ujjawala Yojna :
In December 2003 , only 6 lakh 80,000 families had cooking gas connections . Now 36 lakh , 38,000 families are enjoying the facility . Prime Minister ’ s Ujjalawa Yojna , launched on 13 August , 2016 , has contributed majorly to this rapid progress in use of cooking gas in the State . Under the scheme the LPG coverage has increased from 34 % to 65 %. So far 16 lakh , 50,000 poor families are connected with cooking gas connection .
rural IndustrY department
The State launched Village Industry policy 2016-2021 . The policy aims at helping handicraft and clay workers and boosting the silk products in the state .
Chhattisgarh Mati Kala Board was also launched in 2012 for the economic and technical development of potters and clay workers . Under the policy , employment will be generated for women and clay artists and workers from the poorer sections of the state .

Free of cost generic medicines have been supplied to State hospitals through Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation .
In 2004 Sanjivini Sahayata Kosh had a budgetary allocation of Rs 5 crore . In 2016-17 it was increased to 32 Cr .
The State now has six Government Medical Colleges and three Private Medical College . Government colleges have 650 seats for MBBS while in Pvt the number is 450 . A new medical college in Sarguja is opened with 100 seats .
A super speciality Cancer Unit has been opened in the medical college in Raipur .
In addition to this there is a Government Cancer Hospital in Bilaspur .

The State has ensured 50 % reservation for women in Panchayat . Swami Vivekanand Yuva Protsahan Yojna for skill training for youth has also been launched .
To promote sport in rural areas , the State Government has sanctioned 122 mini stadia in 2016-17 . Rs 10 lakh per stadium for open-air gyms has also been allocated .
One quintal free grains for poor in every panchayat have been allocated .
In the case of death of head of the family in rural area , immediate grant of Rs 2000 / - for proper cremation has also been sanctioned .

President Ramnath Kovind has awarded the National Award to Chhattisgarh State Government on the occasion of National Disability Day . Social Welfare Minister Mrs Ramshila Sahu received the award from the President on behalf of the State Government . The State Government has started a college for the challenged and has also encouraged them to come and take part in sport . The challenged have also been trained in different professions to find better job opportunities .
Ghasiram Yadav : For Ghasiram Yadav of Village Kodiaghat even day-to-life is a big challenge . An amputee with one leg , it was Ghasiram Yadav dream to have his own proper house where he could live peacefully with wife and two kids . But his modest mean could never have materialised his dream . But Pradhan Mantri Awas Scheme has turned his dream into reality . Now , under the scheme , Yadav owns a brick-mortar house . He is ever so grateful to Prime Minister Modi and the State Government of Chhattisgarh .
