celebrated with complete festive fervor
while solemn occasions like Good
Friday, Moharram, Barawafat and
Chehlum were duly observed.
Industrial Development
through Investors’
Summit 2018:
The overall growth of the state depends
on its productivity and UP has its
own potentials. It is the land full of
opportunities. But the youth of the
state was still jobless. Industrialist were
reluctant to invest in the state due to
shortage of infrastructure and basic
industrial needs like power supply,
law and order and other production
facilities. All the more, debt on
the state was a huge burden on the
new government Considering this,
in February 2018 UP Government
organized a major investment summit
in Lucknow along with road shows in
various major cities of the country.
To make Uttar Pradesh a global
destination for industrial investments
an investors’ summit was organized
in which Indian and international
investors came forward to sign
Memorandum
of
Understanding
(MOUs) worth Rs 4.68 lakh crore with
the government. To ensure an investor
friendly environment a Single Window
clearance facility has been created in the
Chief Minister’s office.
With a view to make it a special
investment state and to rebuild the
manufacturing sector, a ‘Make in UP
department’ is to be formed. A business
reform initiative ‘Ease of doing business’
has been implemented in the state. An
investor friendly single window web
portal has been created and special
police units are to be provided for the
security of industrial establishments.
Under the upcoming Delhi – Mumbai
Industrial Corridor, 80 villages of Dadri,
Noida and Ghaziabad will be notified as
a special zone. To develop an integrated
industrial township in Greater Noida,
a stamp duty waiver will be given. The
land for the purpose has already been
handed over to the SPV created with
this objective. For Amritsar – Delhi –
Kolkata corridor, Allahabad, Aligarh and
Bhaupur have been selected as integral
parts. An International Greenfield
Airport is to come up in Jewar for which
central clearance has been obtained
and the work is in progress. Nine more
airports are to be built for better regional
air connectivity.
24x7 Electricity and
Power:
To provide enough electicity to all
regions whether urban or rural was at
priority for state government. Earlier
governments always put their own
interest first in distributing power
supply to VIP and non VIP districts.
Rural areas always have to compromise
against the urban sectors and had to
face long power cuts. Taking a note of
this imbalance Yogi Adityanath gave
strict orders to state power corporation
to overcome this situation by cutting
across regional differences. District
headquarters are now getting 24 hour
electricity while tehsils are getting 20
hours and villages are getting 18 hours
of power supply. Meanwhile about
56000 hamlets have been electrified.
