Not a typical cardiac rehabilitation center, as an extension of
Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Fort Worth,
individualized plans of care are completed for patients that
often involve a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. A patient’s
ability as well as activity level are considered. For example, a
patient may prefer to gain strength and endurance progressively
through the healing process by engaging in a specific form of
exercise such as martial arts or boxing. If a patient is returning
to work and performs physical work as a part of his or her
employment, the exercise physiologists will incorporate the
patient’s work activities into his or her rehabilitation process. This
therapy program has demonstrated that when patients follow
the individualized treatment plan, patients often return to work
earlier than if not participating in cardiac rehabilitation. And, for
most patients, there is a return to a more active lifestyle with the
assistance of cardiac rehabilitation. Additionally:

Center – Fort Worth, in the Carter Fitness Center is Carter
Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. At this location, patients
have the opportunity to proceed with post-procedural healing
or cardiac event recovery. The multidisciplinary team of clinical
experts also works closely with patients, both cardiovascular and
pulmonary, in the management of their disease.
