Ongoing Patient Education and Support Programs

The hospital emphasizes community outreach by sponsoring ongoing classes focused on preventive health education.
LEAP FOR LIFE ®
“ Leap” stands for Lifestyle Education Awareness Program. For the past ten years, this successful program was developed to focus on the needs of cardiovascular patients and family members. Leap for Life sessions teach what steps can be taken to manage cardiovascular disease and to improve health and well-being. It is a wellness and disease prevention program available to all heart patients and their family members. Anyone from the community may attend and registration is encouraged. Educators with special expertise in cardiovascular patient care help empower individuals with physical, dietary and stress management
education to achieve better health. Physicians on the medical staff encourage patients to enroll in one or more sessions. For more information about Leap for Life classes on the Baylor-Dallas campus or at Carter Rehabilitation in Fort Worth, please call 1.800.4BAYLOR.
